REGIONAL UNIVERSAL SCIENTIFIC LIBRARY NAMED AFTER TARAS SHEVCHENKO, MUNICIPAL INSITUTION OF CHERKASY REGIONAL COUNCIL

We provide all the services of the library. Additional features of the library: - The registration documents of library users; - Photocopying of documents - Drafting, editing of bibliographic lists for ordering - Preparation of factual, analytical, bibliographical and other references - Organization of catalogues of private libraries Computer and Internet services: - preparation of factual, thematic, clarifying references; - use of a personal computer; - a set of texts; - printing information; recording of information on electronic carriers; scan; - the creation of an electronic mailbox.

The first public library in the city of Cherkasy opened on 11 July 1899 at the initiative of a small circle of local intellectuals. At all stages of the activities of the library one of the main directions of the work is publishing, primarily benefits local directions: on the history of the region, outstanding fellow countrymen. Today is a modern scientific information, leading educational, cultural, scientific-methodical center, Depository of local literature in Cherkasy region, the cell access to library and world information resources. There are more than 2 300 thousand books, periodicals, audiovisual and visual materials, CD-ROMs, music, maps, descriptions of inventions to author’s certificates and patents, and other documents on all branches of knowledge thirty-five languages. The library services are annually used by more than 37 thousand users and 300 subscribers IBA, which is issued about 1190 thousand documents, more than 7 thousand information and advice.
