The Lesya Ukrainsky National Academic Theater of Russian Drama was founded in the nineteenth century and to this day pleases the inhabitants of Ukraine and guests of the country with incredible and talented performances. There is an immutable law: the time of the living life of any theater is the time of joint creative activity of a group of artists of the same generation together with their leader - a director. Then comes either natural renewal or damping, and in the case of our theater, we can say that at the moment a professional team has been formed that is able to surprise the viewer and give him a lot of emotions.

Several generations of Ukrainian theater-goers have grown up at the performances of our theater, the number of which today totals several dozen. The theater lives an active creative life. The repertoire is replenished with new performances that amaze the viewer with the contrasts of their stage images: along with foreign and domestic classics, it is decorated with plays by contemporary authors.

There is a museum on the territory of the theater. Everyone has heard about premieres, meter tours, benefit performances and anniversaries, but few people know about the amazing, original museum with a large exposition that has existed for about forty years. For many years, a wonderful actor, People’s Artist of Ukraine Serhiy Filimonov was engaged in the museum: he completed and carefully preserved the collection and funds.
