MOTOR TRANSPORT INSURANCE BUREAU OF UKRAINE, ASSOCIATION OF INSURANCE COMPANIES

We offer insurance services for:
- consumers;
- insurers;
- foreign bureaus.

The main tasks of MTIBU are:
- performance of guarantee functions to compensate for damage caused to third parties during the operation of ground vehicles, in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine and agreements concluded by the Bureau with authorized organizations of other countries for civil liability insurance;
- ensuring Ukraine’s membership in the international automobile insurance system ”Green Card” and the fulfillment of generally recognized obligations to authorized organizations of other member countries of this system;
- management of centralized insurance reserve funds created under the Bureau to ensure the fulfillment of the functions assigned to it - the Fund for the Protection of Victims, the Fund for Insurance Guarantees;
- coordination of the work of insurers - its members in the field of insurance of civil liability for damage caused to third parties as a result of a traffic accident, both on the territory of Ukraine and abroad;
- fulfillment of insurance obligations for compulsory insurance of civil liability (including under international insurance contracts) for insurers-members of the Bureau in case of insufficiency of funds and property of these insurers declared bankrupt and/or liquidated;
- cooperation with the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other state authorities on the issues of compulsory insurance of civil liability.

The Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine is the only association of insurers that provide compulsory insurance of civil liability of owners of land vehicles for damage caused to third parties.

Membership of insurers in the MTIBU is a prerequisite for compulsory insurance of civil liability of owners of land vehicles.

MTIBU is a non-profit (non-profit) organization and operates in accordance with the Law of Ukraine ”On Compulsory Insurance of Civil Liability of Land Vehicle Owners”, the legislation of Ukraine and its Charter.
