Chernivtsi city council is a local self-government body of the Chernivtsi city community in the Chernivtsi region.

The Executive Committee of the Chernivtsi City Council is the executive body of the council, which is formed by it for the term of its powers.
The head of the executive committee is the Chernivtsi mayor, in his absence - the secretary of the council, or one of the deputies of the mayor.
The composition of the executive committee ex officio includes: the mayor, his deputies and the secretary of the executive committee. From among the deputies may also be included - the secretary of the council.
The personal composition of the executive committee is approved by the city council on the proposal of the Chernivtsi mayor.
The organizational form of the work of the executive committee is its meeting, which can be held if there is a quorum - more than half of the members.
