The activities of the Institute: - Analysis of the situation and social needs of certain population groups (young people, families, children); - Analysis of legislation and preparation of draft legislative and regulatory acts in the sphere of youth and social policy; - Training and raising qualification of specialists of the social sphere, working with young people, families and children; - Development and pilot implementation of innovative technologies and projects aimed at implementing effective approaches in the field of social and youth work, as well as monitoring their implementation; - Development of information-analytical and educational materials.

State Institute of family and youth policy is the state budget non-profit research institution, which belongs to the sphere of management of the Ministry of youth and sports of Ukraine. The Institute was founded on 26 April 1991 by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR ”On establishment of the Ukrainian research Institute for youth problems” The aim of the Institute is scientific-methodical provision of formation and implementation of family and youth policy.
