The Holy Assumption Pochaiv Lavra is the heart of the spiritual life of Ukraine, a place of pilgrimage and an unsurpassed architectural gem that has attracted believers and tourists from all over the world for centuries.

The Pochaiv Lavra is one of the oldest and largest Orthodox monasteries, preserving numerous shrines. Here, pilgrims can touch the miraculous icon of the Pochaiv Mother of God, worship the Healing Foot of the Most Holy Theotokos, visit the cave with the incorruptible relics of the Monk Job of Pochaiv, and also pray near the relics of the Monk Amphilochius of Pochaiv. Divine Liturgies, molebens and evening services are held daily, creating a unique atmosphere of spiritual unity.

The architectural ensemble of the Holy Assumption Pochaiv Lavra amazes with its grandeur and beauty. Among its buildings stand out: the Holy Assumption Cathedral (1771-82, architect G. Hoffman), the Trinity Cathedral (1906-12, architect A. Shchusev), ancient cells (1771-80), the Bishop’s House (1825), the bell tower (1861-69) with a height of 65 meters, as well as the gatehouse (1835). These monuments are witnesses of centuries-old history and spiritual stability.

Pochaev Lavra is the largest Orthodox shrine in Volyn and the second after the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra in Ukraine. This is a majestic architectural ensemble, consisting of 16 churches, the residence of the archbishop, a bell tower, cells. All buildings are ideally combined with the picturesque landscape, rocky mountainside and terraces.

This is one of the majestic places of pilgrimage in Ukraine to the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos (August 28) and St. Job (September 10). Her shrines include: the footprint of the Mother of God with a source of healing water, her miraculous icon, the relics of St. Job, Amphilochius.
